Planting Coffee Plants

One of the ways we try to make the Hmong Foundation completely self-supporting is by planting and selling to make money. The pictures show the students from the Hmong Foundation planting coffee plants. We hope to be able to multiply the plants and sell coffee in the future. Please pray that God will use this for His honor and glory in reaching the Hmong people in SE Asia.

Purchase Land for Hmong Foundation

(Email from Hmong Director in Thailand)

I am sending you pictures about some land for sale in Chiang Khong. This land is cheaper than any place I know in the Chiang Khong area in this time. It's 8 rais= 1,000,000 THB. [NOTE: 2.2 rai = 1 acre and exchange rate Thai Baht/U.S. Dollar is about 29.7/$1. The land would cost about US$33,670]

Please pray for it. Thank you.

God bless you.

Pray for the Hmong Students

 (Email from the Hmong Director)

The students have already started the school for the new school year. Some students have to adapt to the new classes and new friends. The students said that they started to testify about God with friends at school and two things I see is that students begin to read the Bible and pray by them self.

Pray for the students that they will grow up to be a follower of Jesus Christ...to be true disciples.

God bless you.

Pray for Faa!

T

This past Sunday, there was a young lady who received Jesus Christ as her Savior! Her name is Faa (see attached pictures). She is a native of Chiang Khong where the Hmong Foundation is located. We praise God…as she is the first in Somboon’s church in Chiang Khong to come to Christ. In the past, we have had people come to receive the Lord in the province but this is the first person in the town of Chiang Khong. Our students at the foundation had a big part in bringing her to know God. Praise God for her salvation! Please pray for her as she learns what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and grows in Him.

We also praise the Lord that we have had $1000 given towards the purchase of land and the vehicle. If you would like to help, please send your tax-deductible check to Central Missionary Clearinghouse (P.O. Box 219228, Houston, Texas 77218-9228). Please put “CARD-Land/Vehicle” in the memo. We thank you for your prayers as we see God working in the hearts of the Hmong people. God bless!

Prayer for Ay-Jai

There is a young man who recently accepted Christ as his Savior. His name is Ay-Jai and his testimony is very interesting. He was involved in what we would call witchcraft (Satan’s family). One of the rituals they would perform was the cutting of the hand, allowing the blood to drip into a cup and then each person would drink it. As Americans, we do not completely understand what spiritual warfare truly is. The tribal people here live it everyday. It brings Ephesians 6 to light.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (NASB)

This young man is being discipled and has a long way to go. Please pray for Ay-Jai.

Praise the Lord - Two Salvations!

We are praising the Lord because there were two young boys living at the Hmong Hostel who accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord. Their names are Xai and Chai. Somboon chooses the boys carefully. Every year, there are hundreds of Hmong children who would like to come live and study at the Hmong Hostel. Because we have limited funds and facilities, we have to limit the number to about 25. As a result, Somboon must be very selective in choosing the students. One of the criteria is their openness to the Gospel. He will select a certain number of Hmong non-Christians. These two boys were a part of that selection. It has been exciting to see the Holy Spirit work in their hearts over the past year. I have attached a picture of Xai and Chai. Please pray for their spiritual growth in this New Year!
