Traditional Style

The Hmong Foundation students are cooking Hmong food the old traditional way. It is obvious they are enjoying the food, the atmosphere and the fellowship!

This little boy's father passed away and his mother left him with his grandparents to raise. Somboon, his family and the students at the Hmong foundation went to visit him and his grandparents to give encouragement and support. The grandparents are Christians!

Somboon's two young girls decided to give him some of their toys to play with. This shows the kindness of their heart!

 

The Hmong Students Are Back!

We are praising the Lord that the students are back at the Hmong Foundation Center. The school started a little later as the result of COVID 19.

They began cleaning up around their homes. We are so happy to have them back!

The Shaman as a New Christian Sharing His Faith

  
Almost immediately, the shaman began to evangelize other Hmong villages with the Good News of Jesus Christ. He shared how Christ changed his life.

  
He saw fruit from his evangelization and sharing how the Holy Spirit is now working in his life. How he is no longer a slave to Satan, sin and the evil spirits.

  


The Bible student and the shaman taught them how to worship the one true God!

Baptism of the Shaman and his Family

The shaman and his family followed in obedience to Jesus Christ and were baptized at the river.

Salvation of a La* Hmong Shaman (witch doctor)

One of our former L** Hmong Bible Students went back to his country to start a Bible School. He had the opportunity to lead a Shaman and his family to Jesus Christ.

They are reading the Bible in front of the witch doctor paraphernalia on the wall to the right.

They are moving the paraphernalia out of the house to clean the evil spirits out.

  
The paraphernalia is burned in front of the Hmong village as a testimony to God.

The family received Christ as their Savior as well!

Carmody Update

Greetings from northern Thailand! We have been involved with Somboon and the students. We will continue until around November 18. Then we will head back to Udonthani to pack for the United States. We will be heading back on December 3. Our goal will be to raise funds and find someone (or couple) to help with the Hmong Foundation. Somboon is planning to join us in February. We will be contacting you to set up a meeting while he is there.

We are praising the Lord as we have seen God use three of our former La*-Hmong students to start a Bible Training Center in their country. One center is in the south, one central and the other in the north. We have attached a few photos of the training in the north. We are not showing their faces for their safety. We ask that you do not share these photos for their safety as well. The vision has been from the beginning to see a church planting in reverse. They originated from China.

Learning to read and write Hmong

Even though the Hmong Foundation students know how to speak the Hmong language, they do not know how to read and write it. They are taught Thai language in the Thai school system. Our Hmong director is teaching them how to read and write their "mother" tongue (language).

Planting Coca Plants

The Students planted coca plants on the foundation's land.

The students will go to school each week day. After school, they will have devotional and worship times during the week. On Saturdays, they will have tasks such as this to do. We have been blessed with some good Hmong kids for this school year!

Preparing the Pond for Fish

The pond on the land we purchased several years ago has been drained and dug out deeper (see video above). The desire is that we would be able to raise bigger fish, both to eat and to sell. It has always been our desire to see the land produce so we can be self-sufficient. Please pray that we will not have people come and steal the fish which has been a big problem in the past.

We welcome the new addition to the Rompanatham family, Moriah! She was born on June 1.

New Addition to Pishon Church - November 2017

We are praising the Lord for a gift to help put an addition to the back of Pishon Church in Chiang Khong. We do not have the funds needed to complete the project. Hmong Village Outreach (September 2017)

Somboon took the World Race team to a Hmong village for an outreach. As one can see from the video below, they had a very profitable time.

Shalom Coffee Shop in Chiang Khong

The Hmong Foundation had World Race team from the USA come in September to help. One of the things they helped with was the new Shalom Coffee Shop started by Somboon and another Hmong partner. Here is a video showing some of their work. Thanks World Race team!!!

Hmong Baptism (afternoon August 20, 2017)

I (Duane) had the honor and privilege to baptize 6 Hmong students in the afternoon after worship service. Please pray for their spiritual growth.
