The Hmong congregation will have their first service in their new building on Oct. 1, 2016. They are excited because they will no longer  need to pay rent each month. This property was given to them so we are praising the Lord for His goodness!!

Rubber Tree Harvest Aug. 2016

Students harvested rubber from the rubber trees this past August. Many hours were spent harvesting. But due to the price of rubber in Thailand drastically dropping, they received less than $100 for their efforts.

Rice on the New Land - July 2016

We purchased 2 Rai (a little less than an acre) of land close to Rajabhat University in Chiang Rai. The students planted rice on it until we can raise the funds to add soil to raise the land. Otherwise, during rainy season, it would flood if we put buildings on it. The plan is to use some rice and sell the rest.

Draining the Pond and Catching the Fish

We are praising the Lord that we are able to purchase 2 rai (a little less than an acre) of land close to the university in Chiang Rai. This will allow our Hmong college students a place to live while attending. Most of the land is used for rice. It is low so that it allows for water during the rainy season. The only problem is that if want to put buildings on the land, we must put fill dirt on top.

If you are willing to help, we will need $10,000 to haul and put the dirt on the land. If you can help with any portion, it would be helpful. We have a small pond on the land (see videos below) and want to raise some fish in it. It will cost about $1,000 to prepare the pond and purchase fish. We also need $1,000 to change the names on the land deed.

The Hmong students have started their new school year (May-March). We witnessed 9 of the students coming to Christ as their Savior the last school year. We are praying that God will continue to work in the students that returned from last school year and will work in the lives of the new students.

Please continue to pray for a social worker the government is requiring the foundation to have. Somboon’s brother, Chai, is praying about this. He will need to complete a master’s degree. We are thankful he has a BS degree.

We are in the process of purchasing 2 rai of land near the city of Chiang Rai. We are praying that we will be able to start some buildings such as girl's and boy's dormitories in the near future.

New Floor and Roof for Dining Area

God has blessed us with some funds to be able to pour cement and put a new roof over the Hmong Foundation dining area. During the rainy season in the past, the students would have to eat with several inches of water and the roof would leak. We are praising the Lord!
